I write as a retired hotelier If I could take this hotel and place it wherever I travel I would, it is very, very good. The rooms and bathrooms are excellent, the breakfast buffet offers a wide choice and the dinner menu very high quality.

Lovely hotel. Not in centre of town so good if you have a car as plenty of parking. Easy to get a taxi in or train station not far away. Good if you going out down the bay

Loved this hotel. The resaurant with fantastic. Hope this are going to open more in the UK. If goiing by rail get plus bus tickets to hop on and of baycar all day. The castle tour is great. Only down side pestrian access not good, could do with a bridge over the main road.

We stayed here on a short break to Cardiff. The hotel is in an area geared for car users. Those using public transport are at a slight disadvantage because it isn't immediately available near the hotel. Cardiff Bay is within walking distance but Cardiff City is 25minutes walking unless bus or train is used in which case are about 10 minutes away. In general however, this an excellent hotel if visiting Cardiff.

The Future Inn is on the edge of a giant car park and there is still a lot of building development going on nearby. However it is very close to Mermaid Quay which had excellent eateries. I would reccomend Mimosa Kitchen & Bar. Hotel is also near the Red Dragon Centre which is now looking a bit tired. Take the park and ride into the city centre. Good value for £3 per car but only on Saturday & Sundays. Normal buses £1.50 return.

Excellent staff, excellent hotel if you stay you must eat in the restaurant and order the anti-pasto. Only downside is that you are on an enormous retail/entertainment park with a dual carriage way. Buses are plentiful and cheap though.

There were teenage children running and shouting in the corridor outside my room. This was not delt with quickly. Apart from this the hotel was first class

I stayed in a standard single room which was very spacious and comfortable. The room facilities were excellent and the location in Cardiff Bay, adjacent to the Red Dragon centre and Millennium Centre, is ideal.

My second stay in this hotel. A good facility if you have business in Cardiff Bay or are going to the Cardiff Millenium Centre (we thoroughly enjoyed the performance of Tristan und Isolde - and the new theatre is so good a facility that I doubt whether we will now go and see WNO performances at their other touring venues). The Angel Quay area nearby is very lively and has a good choice of reasonably priced eating places, although there is a dearth of temples of gastronomy!

We used the hotel because of its proximity to the Cardiff Millenium Centre as we had two operas scheduled, one on a Saturday night and the other Sunday afternoon. The staff were most accomodating and gave us late check-out. The meals in the restaurant were excellent and the overall experience was outstanding. We'll do it again

Noise from dual carriageway outside hotel room could be heard clearly through window even when shut. This was unacceptable give the rate paid for the room. Receptionist on check-in was distracted and inattentive - didn't fully face me when speaking to me and mumbled so much I could barely hear her. I was subsequently emailed by the booking website saying I hadn't shown up, and that I still owed them money for the room - seems the hotel didn't process my payment correctly. Otherwise, hotel is beautiful. Room was spotless and very tasteful, with all mod cons (including internet and heated towel rail). Attended conference in the hotel which was well organised and catered. Didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that, but service at coffee bar was excellent and prices reasonable.

This hotel is very handy for the Millenium Centre, so if your visit to Cardiff is to take in a performance by the Welsh National Opera, it's an ideal choice. Ask the staff for directions by foot to the WMC, though - it's far quicker to cut through a nearby entertainments complex (the Red Dragon Centre) than to go round by road. There is now a reasonable choice of restaurants in the Cardiff Bay area, most of which were doing good business after the opera. This is good news - my memories of Cardiff from the seventies and eighties was it was a culinary desert. Turning to the hotel, it's what one would expect from a good quality modern establishment (again, in the seventies and eighties such places seemed few and far between in the whole of Wales). I will certainly use the hotel on my next visit to Cardiff. However, the place is probably more focused on the needs of the business traveller (the redevelopment of Cardiff Bay area has attracted the global professional businesses - and there is also the Welsh Assembly) than the leisure traveller. The big draw for me is the proximity of the WMC - if I wanted to 'take in' more of Cardiff, I would probably look for a hotel at the other end of Bute Street.

I did not get to stay but arrived, paid for and entered the room booked. Unfortunately I had a family crisis and was called back to Exeter immediately so am unable to comment further, but first impressions were very favourable and the staff were excellent. Sorry I can't be of more help but will certainly be staying at this particular Future Inn soon.

I stayed this hotel in the middle of November. The room is new, clean and very large for a single guest. The decolation of the room is simple but functional. The bathroom is also wide. The desk of the room is large enough for the business traveler. A little unpleasant things was that the minimum setting of the TV volume was still too loud, and I could not adjust it. The wired internet connection from the room costed 7.95 pounds per day, and the fee seemed expensive to me.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in...and to find it in Cardiff which is not known for quality accommodation at reasonable prices...was a great boost. Really easy to book on-line....and no problems at the other end. Great stuff

Considering I was in Cardiff to see a Heavy Metal band, my choice of clothing when going out of the Hotel created no "upturned noses", they just treated us just as well as all the guests. Needless to say we did wear normal clothing arriving at the hotel and during breakfast. This is THE most top hotel I have ever stayed in, even the television welcomes you when you put your card in for power in the room. Place was excellent only stayed 1 night, but would have definitely stayed a week if I could. Breakfast was the business also, and the staff were 1st class and very well trained. I will always book this hotel when staying around Cardiff.

Staff were very helpful. At breakfast the staff seemed a little pushed and the service was not quite as prompt as it might have been, but help came from other staff members.
